Anna challenges government to prove graft allegations
Updated on Aug 15, 2011 08:53 pm IST
With less than 24 hours left for social activist Anna Hazare's second indefinite fast on the lokpal issue, the UPA government and the ruling Congress has launched a scathing attack on him. The Congress on Sunday called Hazare is "corrupt from head to toe" adding that his protest was "undemocratic" and "unacceptable". However, dismissing the allegations Anna said that he would not call off his ensuing indefinite hunger strike until the central government proved the alleged charges of financial irregularities in the Hind Swaraj Trust founded by him. Terming the accusations against him based on Justice Sawant Commission's probe report as 'baseless,' Hazare asserted he had not indulged in even a single act of corruption in the last 20 years.
