Arun Gawli, 10 others get life term in Sena corporator murder case

Gangster-turned-politician Arun Gawli has been awarded life imprisonment by the MCOCA court for involvement in Shiv Sena corporator Kamlakar Jamsandekar's murder. Special MCOCA judge Prithivaraj Chavan has also slapped a fine of Rs 7 lakh on Gawli. 11 others who had hatched the conspiracy to kill Jamsandekar along with Gawli have also been convicted. Jamsandekar was shot dead in March 2008 at his Asalpha residence in suburban Ghatkopar. Gawli was arrested on May 21, 2008 and has been in custody since then.
