Poultry business in Tripura has been hit as the state is experiencing severe scarcity of poultry products following the government's decision to completely ban the import of poultry into the state after the outbreak of bird flu in eastern West Bengal and neighbouring Bangladesh. Through there is no report of the outbreak of the H5N1 strain of avian influenza in Tripura but the state authorities have decided not to take any chances.
