Updated on Apr 17, 2010 09:32 pm IST
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Friday asked for a joint parliamentary committee to monitor food storage management in the government-owned Food Corporation of India (FCI). The BJP's demand came after a high-level delegation led by its senior leader and former chief, Rajnath Singh, along with other leaders visited two FCI warehouses in Palwal. Singh claimed that the country has lost hundreds of thousands of tonnes of wheat because of mismanagement by the Food Corporation of India.
