Colours, traditional songs and dance marked the celebrations of Holi in Kolkata on March 17. Popular as Dol-Jatra" in Bengal, the celebrations were held at the prestigious Rabindra Bharati University dedicated to dance, drama, music and art. Meanwhile, in Mathura town, believed to be the birthplace of Hindu Lord Krishna, a riot of colours filled the air as people gathered to witness cultural programmes depicting 'Holi of Braj' through theatrical performances.
