Centuries old mosque in Kashmir gets face lift

Renovation work at the heritage centuries old Masjid of Akhund Mulla at Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir is now underway to restore the vintage grandeur of the monument. Akhund Mulla is considered as the mosque within a mosque. The main building is separate and placed within a courtyard surrounding the mosque. Locals feel that attention should be paid to such monuments that are a reflection of the heritage and culture of the region.
