The Congress-led central government has slammed the BJP for not allowing the Lokpal Bill be given the constitutional status. Talking to mediapersons, Union HRD minister Kapil Sibal said the BJP doesn't want a strong bill and their statements in the floor of the house exposed their stand on the issue. Meanwhile, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal said because of the BJP, the government did not succeed in giving Lokpal bill the constitutional status. The Lok Sabha passed the much-anticipated Lokpal Bill on Tuesday to create an anti-corruption body.
