Congress slams Modi over Sir Creek issue
Updated on Dec 15, 2012 09:43 pm IST
The Congress has alleged that Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi raked up Sir Creek for political gains. Information and broadcasting minister Manish Tewari said that it is unfortunate on the part of the chief minister to exploit sensitive issue related to national security at the cost of polls. He further said that Modi's claim has been proved wrong as Sir Creek was still with India. During poll campaign, Modi had alleged that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would hand over Sir Creek to Pakistan secretly during the visit of its Interior Minister Rehman Malik on December 15, which would pose a security threat.
