Terming the demand as 'legitimate' Polit Bureau member of Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M), Brinda Karat supported the plea seeking return of Parliament attack mastermind Afzal Guru's body to his family. While addressing reporters in Rohtak, Karat said that it could not be ruled out that the matter was being politicized. In the meanwhile Karat also called on the Congress led UPA government to take a strong step against Italy for refusing to send back the under trial marines who killed two Indian fishermen. Commenting upon the lowering of consent for sex to 16 years from 18, Karat said that the government needed to take safe guards to avoid misuse of the law by sexual assaulters.
