Curfew re-imposed in Kashmir to stop demonstrations
Updated on Aug 11, 2010 08:47 pm IST
Curfew was reimposed in Srinagar on Wednesday in wake of fresh protests, which rocked Srinagar yesterday with the recovery of the body of a youth missing since July 28.The curfew has also been clamped on several districts of the valley to stop protestors from marching to Pampore, in response to a call given by the Hurriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani. Security forces have barricaded all roads leading to Pampore with barbed wires as a preventive measure. Streets and markets wore a deserted look, as civilian movement was restricted and security forces were seen patrolling the streets in and around Srinagar.
