Dominique Lapierre to receive Padma Bhushan

Indophile and French author Dominique Lapierre promised to keep up his humanitarian tryst with India as Bengal felicitated him on his visit to the state after being conferred the country's third highest civilian award, Padma Bhushan. The celebrated author will receive the award from President Pratibha Patil at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday. Villagers of Bhangur in South 24 Parganas felicitated La Pierre on being conferred the award. Besides being an author, Lappiere is a great humanitarian.
