Fake currency worth 900,000 Rupees seized in Amritsar

Police in Amritsar seized fake Indian currency worth 900,000 Rupees from a goods train arriving from Pakistan on Tuesday. The train pulled in at Atari railway station at 3:30 in the afternoon and the currency was seized at around 4:30 pm while the train was being checked. In the last few years fake Indian currency has been seized across the country in large numbers, some of it printed within the country and very often smuggled from mainly Pakistan, besides Nepal.
