Clearing all confusion and speculation of a rift within the National Conference, party leader Farooq Abdullah on Monday named his son Omar Abdullah as Jammu and Kashmir's new chief ministerial candidate. Farooq also added that the state should have a younger chief minister. 38-year-old Omar Abdullah on the other hand said that he would be guided by his father. Omar also added that informal contacts have been established with the Congress for an alliance government.
