Filing of nominations gathers momentum for polls

A number of politicians representing various political parties, filed nomination papers for India's upcoming parliament election on Thursday. Sanjay Nirupam, a nominee of India's ruling Congress party filed his nomination papers from Mumbai Constituency. Nirupam would be battling it out with Ram Naik, a candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party. After filing his nomination papers, Nirupam said that he would focus on defeating the BJP and the regional Shiv Sena.
