French honour for flute maestro Hariprasad Chaurasia

Classical flute exponent Hariprasad Chaurasia on Tuesday was honoured by the Chevalier dans l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, the highest civilian award in France, by the French government for his contribution to music. French ambassador Jerome K Bonnafont presented him the award at an event organised at the French Embassy. Chaurasia expressed his gratitude by saying that he is feeling very proud for the fact that people even from outside India are able to recognise Indian classical music and its various forms.
