Geelani launches an anti-poll campaign in Srinagar

Hardline separatist leader Syed Ali Shah Geelani has launched a campaign in Srinagar with an aim to exhort people to boycott the upcoming general elections. Despite a boycott call by separatists, the provincial election in December last year had a turnout of more than 60 percent, though many saw it as a vote for better governance rather than acceptance of Indian rule.
