Indefinite curfew imposed in violence hit Assam

Indefinite curfew is imposed in Dhubri district of Assam today, after a fresh round of ethnic violence claimed three lives, taking the overall toll to more than 60 deaths. Earlier a group of over 500 people blocked the national highway, protesting the killing. The three people were killed in Kokrajhar district when some people opened fire on a group at Ranibuli village recently. Two people were injured in the incident. Earlier in the day, Assam Chief minister Tarun Gogoi recommended a probe by the CBI, into the ethnic clashes.
