India celebrates Janmashtami with great fervor

Devotees of Lord Krishna all over India gathered in temples to celebrate the festival of Janmashtami, birthday of Hindu God Krishna, with great devotion and fervor. In Mumbai, celebrations started from Wednesday midnight. Deviating from the usual practice of 'Dahi-handi' where boys break the curd pots, girls aged between 7-14 years made a human pyramid and broke the pot, with great enthusiasm.
