India close to acquiring Anup Chetia from Bangladesh

India and Bangladesh have stepped closer to signing an extradition agreement that will allow India to retrieve United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) general secretary, Anup Chetia, who is imprisoned in Bangladesh. While interacting with mediapersons on Monday, Union home secretary R K Singh aftr meeting with his Bangladeshi counterpart at the 11th joint working group meet, said that the Indian government was satisfied by the investigation process undertaken by Bangladesh and were assured that after the completion of some legal formalities, Chetia would be extradited.
