India inks key deals on anti-piracy and trade with Ethiopia

After signing key deals with Ethiopia on issues of bilateral interest such as trade, piracy and economic cooperation, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at Addis Ababa on Wednesday, said that enhanced ties between the two countries would foster a conducive atmosphere for mutual development and progress. On the culmination of the second India-Africa Forum Summit held at Addis Ababa, India and Ethiopia sealed several Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) after adopting the 'Addis Ababa Declaration.' Besides expressing cooperation in both economic and political forums, the declaration called on all states to stand united in their efforts to combat and eradicate the menace of piracy.
