Updated on May 22, 2010 09:22 pm IST
Chairman of Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Friday said that the Composite Dialogue Process between India and Pakistan would not succeed if the Kashmir problem is not made the focal issue. Addressing a mammoth gathering in Srinagar, Mirwaiz said that New Delhi was trying to put the Kashmir issue on the backburner. Mirwaiz also demanded the release of all political prisoners, demilitarization of the state, abolishment of the Armed Forces Special Powers Act and a comprehensive political package.
