India performs last rites of its former PM

Indian lawmakers on Saturday attended funeral of former Prime Minister Vishwanath Pratap Singh in Allahabad. Singh, remembered for his controversial policy of reserving a larger share of jobs for the country's disadvantaged castes, died on Thursday (November 27) after a long battle with cancer. Nitish Kumar, chief minister of Bihar, Raghuvansh Prasad Singh, and Mulayam Singh Yadav, were among the prominent leaders who paid tributes.
