India’s industrial sector welcomes ‘growth oriented’ budget

India's industrial sector believes that the budget proposed by the country's finance minister, P Chidambaram in the parliament on Thursday is growth oriented and promises generation of employment. Senior Vice President of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Sidharth Birla, said that the general budget has maintained stability. Chairman and Senior Managing Director, DCM, Shriram Consolidated Limited (DSCL) Ajay Shriram, said that the budget focused on generation of jobs. Meanwhile, the resident director for regulatory affairs and government relations, Vodafone Essar limited, T V Ramachandran, said that the tax levied on mobile phones would affect internet productivity.
