India world no. 2 in fatal road accidents

Indian roads are not the safest places to be, as India has the distinction of registering the highest number of road-accident fatalities, second only to China. According to reports in 2004 as many as 92,618 people lost their lives in road accidents in India as compared to 1,07,077 people killed in China in the same year. India has a far higher rate of road casualties than several countries, including US, Japan, Canada, Australia and Germany.
