Indian Men’s Hockey team thrash Singapore

The Indian men's hockey team kicked off their Olympic qualifying campaign in scintillating style by thrashing minnows Singapore 15-1 in New Delhi's Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium on Saturday. Forward Gurwinder Singh scored a hat trick for the Indian team with striker Shivender Singh, midfielders Danish Mujtaba and Sunil Sowmarpet scoring braces. Speaking to mediapersons after the match, Nobbs said that the team still had significant scope of improvement and stressed that the current crop was yet to reach its peak.
