ISRO successfully launches India's third navigation satellite IRNSS 1C

With the successful launch of the third Regional Navigation Satellite System IRNSS 1C on board ISRO's PSLV C26 rocket, India has moved a step closer to setting up the country's own navigation system on par with Global Positioning System (GPS) of the US. The IRNSS 1C, which lifted off from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh at 1.32 am, is the third of the series of seven satellites ISRO is planning to launch.
