Kumble to head ICC’s Technical Committee

Former cricketer Anil Kumble has been appointed as the new chairman of the International Cricket Council's Technical Committee after the unanimous agreement of the ICC board at a meeting in Colombo. Meanwhile, welcoming the appointment of Kumble, BCCI Vice President Rajiv Shukla said that he was very capable of doing justice to such a huge responsibility. 41 years old Kumble who has 619 Test and 337 One-Day International wickets to his name, succeeds former West Indies captain Clive Lloyd, who led the committee since 2008. Kumble would be the second Indian to head the committee after Sunil Gavaskar.
