Updated on Jul 10, 2009 09:02 pm IST

Udaipur in Rajasthan, is finding it difficult to live up to its epithet, the 'city of lakes', as the lakes are drying up due to lack of rainfall. The five lakes in the city - Udai Sagar Lake, Lake Pichola, Rajsamand Lake, Fateh Sagar Lake, and Jaisamand Lake- are all rain fed. The repercussions of the situation are being seen on the tourism industry, as the number of tourists in the city is way lower than normal.
