Maharashtra Government on Tuesday instituted a special task outfit named Force One to combat militant strikes. The formal investiture of Force One took place at the Maharashtra SRPF (Special Reserve Police Force) training establishment located in Mumbai's suburb Goregaon. This exclusive commando-type unit is similar to the nation's elite National Security Guards (NSG) to combat terrorism. Around 216 personnel from the state police have volunteered to be the regular commandos of Force One.
