Mango harvest decides marriages

Marriages in Malihabad are decided by mangoes. Absurd as it may sound, but it is true that, mango growers in this mango heartland of Uttar Pradesh depend on their mango harvest to solemnize or postpone marriages in the family. Mango cultivation, being the sole means of income for the people here, they have no option but to depend on its yield for their living or marriages.
