Mukul Roy set to replace Trivedi

Bowing to the command of his party Trinamool Congress (TMC), Union Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi finally resigned on Sunday, after days of intense political drama over his decision to hike passenger fares in the ministry's annual budget. Mukul Roy is likely to take over as the Railway Minister.Soon after he tendered his resignation, Trivedi asserted that he had decided to give up his office after taking the advice of TMC chief and Chief Minister West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, who has reached the capital.Further, Trivedi asserted that he harboured no ill-feelings vis-à-vis the TMC, and that he had high regard for Banerjee.
