No place for Khap’s diktat in democratic society: Chidambaram

Reacting strongly to a diktat by a khap panchayat in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat region, which forbids women under the age of 40 years from using mobile phones, going to the market or walking unescorted, union home minister P Chidambaram said that there is no place for such diktats in a democracy.
