PL Punia slams UP govt over discrimination against Dalits

Chairperson of National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Congress lawmaker P. L. Punia on Tuesday slammed Uttar Pradesh government for being unable to protect the interest of the lower sections of the society in the state. A team of officials including Punia was denied access to a medical college in Lucknow where students belonging to the Dalit Community were being repeatedly failed in a particular subject. Furious at the act by the college and local authorities, Punia lashed out at the state government for trying to avoid a crucial meeting to correct the academic irregularity prevalent in the medical college.
