Polls result trend mid term victory for UPA: Pranab

Hailing the assembly polls trends according to which, Congress Party and its allies were leading in three out of five states, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee said it is a mid term victory for the United Progressive Alliance. Addressing mediapersons in New Delhi today, he said the results in West Bengal clearly indicate people desire change, so they voted for Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress. According to latest media reports in 296-member West Bengal legislative assembly, Banerjee's alliance with national ruling Congress party is far ahead with 172 seats while the Left Front has bagged 67 seats, and others ahead in 14.
