Posco clearance good news: Naveen Patnaik
Updated on Feb 01, 2011 09:42 pm IST
Orissa chief minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday appreciated the conditional clearance to world's third largest steelmaker Pohang Steel Company (Posco) to set up a steel plant and captive port in the state Orissa, by Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh. However, state's prominent environment activist Prafulla Samantara said that the clearance is of no use as the Forest Rights Act is not implemented as of now. He further warned that if the Act is not implemented then the people would declare war on the state and central government for violating their constitutional right.
