On Indira Gandhi's 30th death anniversary, Hindustan Times brings you a rare interview with her before she was assassinated. She speaks about her sons with a passing reference to her grandson, Rahul Gandhi. She also reveals some unknown facts about the former PM Rajiv Gandhi's early childhood years. Indira Gandhi was assassinated on October 31, 1984, near her Delhi residence by two Sikh security guards who wanted vengeance for authourising a military attack on the Golden Temple in Amritsar five months earlier. Riots erupted following her murder, as Hindus took their revenge on Sikhs.
