Seven civilians, CRPF officer injured in grenade attack at Lal Chowk in Srinagar

Eight people including an officer of the Central Reserve Police Force or CRPF were injured in a grenade blast at Lal Chowk, a busy market area in Srinagar, on Saturday afternoon. The DSP Faisal Qayoom, said several vehicles were damaged in the explosion that took place at 2.15pm and the police is ascertaining as to how the terrorists sneaked in to the city.The target of the blast seemed to be a CRPF bunker at Lal Chowk. A heavy contingent of police and paramilitary forces has been deployed in the area to conduct a search operation to nab the culprits.
