Solar energy to power-up villages in Tripura

Ministry of New and Renewable Energy along with the Tripura government has undertaken steps to make state capital Agartala a 'Solar City'. With growing concerns over climate change owing to environmental degradation, the concept of green energy has been catching up quickly in the state. The Tripura Renewable Energy Development Authority (TREDA) and urban development department, in association with the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) have been actively working to promote green mainly in the form of solar energy.
