Updated on Mar 17, 2015 06:57 pm IST
Members of Opposition parties led by the Congress Tuesday evening started a protest march to Rashtrapati Bhavan against the government's land acquisition bill. The protesting MPs led by Congress president Sonia Gandhi will hand over a joint memorandum to President Pranab Mukherjee, outlining their points of disagreement with the government on the land bill. JD(U) leader Sharad Yadav, who is coordinating the protest march, urged the government not to prevent the opposition from holding a protest. The Congress and other opposition parties call the present land bill 'anti-farmer' and insist that is should be send to parliamentary committee for review.
