Taj Corridor case: Mayawati not to face trial
Updated on Nov 05, 2012 12:01 pm IST
In a major relief to former Uttar Pradesh chief minister and BSP supremo Mayawati, the Allahabad High Court today dismissed the petition against her in the alleged 17-crore Taj Corridor scam case. The Lucknow bench of the HC pronounced the order while hearing a PIL that had challenged the refusal of the UP Governor to prosecute Mayawati and her close aide Naseemuddin Siddiqui. The governor's refusal to prosecute Mayawati had also forced the CBI to stop its probe into the Rs 17 crore scam case in June 2007.
