Three feared killed as temple ladder collapses

Three pilgrims were feared killed and about 200 stranded at the Gaiparnath pilgrim centre when the ladder leading to the Mahadev temple caved collapsed on Sunday in Kota. Early reports quoting eyewitnesses said that the cantilever type of ladder collapsed due to the heavy rush of pilgrims. Army was called in to assist in rescue operations. Disasters at temples are not uncommon in India, where thousands of people gather to pray during festivals.
