UPA misguiding people: BJP over Coalgate
Updated on Aug 25, 2012 05:25 pm IST
Hiiting back at the UPA government over the coalgate issue, Senior BJP leader Arun Jaitley today said that the government's strategy is to misguide the people of the country. Reacting to Finance Minister P Chidambaram's claim that there is no loss due to coal blocks allocation, Arun Jaitley said once coal blocks are allotted then the right to mine is with the private companies and government has no say. Addressing a press conference in New Delhi, Jaitley added that there is a huge opportunity cost to the Government of India. The opportunity that the government could have exploited now rests with private players. He also said that Chidambaram is not the best custodian of the public exchequer.
