Updated on Sept 09, 2015 01:48 pm IST
Acid attack survivors running a 'Sheroes Hangout Cafe' in Agra city of Uttar Pradesh are redefining themselves as fighters. The cafe is situated across the road from where the Taj Mahal monument is located. It is becoming a source of confidence for these women, who are able to show their faces in public after being disfigured. They have been appointed on all sorts of positions in the cafe - from cook, waiter, cleaner to managing accounts and preparing dresses. The cafe also has a reading section alongside a boutique. The cafe is an initiative of the Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) named Chaanv Foundation that has collaborated with the acid attack victims and supporters of the Stop Acid Attack network.
