The Parliament on Tuesday paid tribute to late former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam after it convened for the sixth day of the monsoon session. The MPs in both Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha stood in silence to pay their respects to Kalam after which both the houses were adjourned. While Lok Sabha was adjourned for two days, Rajya Sabha has been adjourned till tomorrow. Kalam collapsed after a massive cardiac arrest while delivering a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management in Shillong on Monday evening. The government has declared a seven-day national mourning as a mark of respect for Dr. Kalam, who played a stellar role in advancing India's nuclear programme.
