World Cup 2011: Wankhede Stadium gets NOC from fire dept

Good news poured in for Mumbai cricket lovers as Wankhede Stadium, which was to host ongoing Cricket world cup matches, finally got clearance from the fire department. Earlier, fire department of the city had raised concerns about mandatory fire equipment,including water hydrants,no-smoking indicators,alarms and extinguishers which were not in place.However,after recent inspections,chief fire officer of Mumbai Uday Tatkare said on Tuesday that all major safety points have been thoroughly checked by the fire officials and has been found to be 'safe and secure'.
