Indian & French navies tackle growing Chinese presence in Indian Ocean region

Few days ago, India & France held joint surveillance & mapping of Southwest Indian Ocean. The latest instance of growing cooperation between the two powers in maritime affairs. This year has seen an increase in joint exercises between the Indian & French navies. First mission kicked off in March & another joint surveillance exercise followed in May. Indian navy focus on consolidation of strategic partnerships in the Indian Ocean region.
