Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei says Tehran and Oman, as the two coastal states, are working on a “clear mechanism” for safe shipping through the Strait of Hormuz that fully respects Iran’s sovereignty and will not allow the strait to return to its pre‑war status, stressing that these are strictly bilateral talks and “do not concern anyone else.” He adds that, after incidents involving bases used by the U.S., Iran has received calls from Britain, Bulgaria and Ukraine saying they do not want to be part of the war against Iran.
