'Jihadist'? : At first meeting, Trump gets asked intense question on Mamdani - watch reply| NYC Mayor

During their first Oval Office meeting, President Donald Trump was directly asked whether he considered New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani to be a “jihadist”—a label previously assigned to Mamdani by GOP leader Elise Stefanik during the campaign. Trump categorically rejected the accusation, telling reporters, “No, I don’t,” and describing Mamdani as a “very rational person” who wants the city to thrive. Despite sharply contrasting past rhetoric—Trump had called Mamdani a “communist lunatic,” and Mamdani labeled Trump a “fascist”—the two leaders found common ground on affordability, crime, and city priorities, with Trump pledging support for the mayor-elect. Trump also brushed aside Stefanik’s campaign statements and lauded Mamdani’s election win as “an incredible feat.”
