Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei denounces the recent unrest as an American‑engineered “sedition,” claiming the United States planned and directed the turmoil with the clear goal of “swallowing” Iran and restoring its military, political and economic dominance. He personally blames President Donald Trump for the casualties and damage, accusing him of openly encouraging demonstrators and promising support, while vowing that although Iran does not seek war, it will not spare either “domestic criminals” or “international criminals” whom he says are behind the crisis.
