Fighter jets were reportedly heard over parts of Tehran on June 1 as multiple explosions echoed across southern Iran, sparking speculation amid heightened regional tensions. Authorities later said blasts in Bandar Abbas and areas near Isfahan were controlled detonations aimed at disposing of unexploded ordnance left behind by recent military activity. Iranian officials stated the clearance operations began on May 31 and could continue for up to 72 hours, urging residents not to panic. Similar explosions were also reported near Qeshm Island, Sirik and Jask. The incidents come as Iran remains on alert following weeks of conflict and ceasefire negotiations.
